There are over 450 documented gangs in the city of Los Angeles, but ten of them stand out for a very distinct reason: Their membership consists of police officers. Within the actual LAPD, real secret societies, gangs made up of police officers exist within each region of the police force. This all-too-real world through the Grim Reapers, the only one of these gangs that started with admirable intentions – the idea of keeping bad cops out of the force. Written and created by former Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy Joe Halpin (Hawaii Five-0), the 10-episode The Oath centers on a gang that started out with the right intentions but its members are forced to turn on each other after being picked off by the FBI. The Oath is executive produced by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and his G-Unit Film & Television Inc., Todd Hoffman and Dennis Kim of Storied Media Group, and Halpin who will also be showrunner.
